My girlfriend Mel and I were on our way to the Dresden and were stuck in traffic on Hollywood Blvd. when we saw and heard 2 cars coming towards us with sirens, but they were unmarked cars, and I said what is this FBI? And they turned in front of us onto another street, and as they turned we saw that the second one was an SUV covered in about 18 SWAT! They were all lined up, hanging on around the car! With helmets and sticks and I imagine guns.
And then there were helicopters circling around and around the area- not far from us, so that eventually when I went home, they were going around until I fell asleep.
Crazy! Another difference to home!
On another more positive yet equally as surreal note, If you haven't seen Swingers, you must, and what have you been doing with your time, haha, but if you have, you know the Dresden and Marty and Elayne. At one point I thought this husband and wife team were fictional characters, but realized and saw for my own eyes last night that they are in fact real! I will never hear "Beat it" quite the same again, ( and for those that come to visit, we will take you there and we will request it!) They were lovely though, and appreciated our applause and attention. Little would I have thought, that back in College when Karie, my sister, suggested this must see movie, would I imagine that I would not only see this duo perform, but sit at their piano, and even talk with them, and offer requests!!!!! Oh, how life works out!
