Top o' the mornin' to ya, fellow Irishmen and women! (Everyone's Irish on St-Patrick's Day, right?) I hope everyone had a happy St-Patrick's Day and partied just hard enough to have a great time and to still want to do it again next year.
Just a quick little tale this morning. Adrianne and I are in Austin, Texas, visiting Shannon and AJ Meehan (my cousin and his wife). We're actually in Fort Hood, because Shannon is in the Army and they live on post. We're here because James and his new band Young Galaxy, are coming to Austin for the South by SouthWest (SxSW) festival tomorrow! I'm so excited to see him! And to see him play! We're so grateful to Shannon and AJ for their hospitality. It's so great to see them!
I received a bit of good news on St-Pat's (yesterday): I got accepted to the AFI Cinematography program!!! I'm so happy and excited to be attending this school! For those who don't know, the AFI Conservatory is probably the best film school in the world. They only accept 28 directors, 28 producers, 28 cinematographers, 28 screenwriters, 14 editors and 14 production designers. Cinematography is probably their best program and they receive hundreds (if not a thousand) applications every year. I feel very fortunate to be going to this school. I'll let you know more of the details later. I would just like to thank everyone for their constant support and encouragement. Especially my friends who are at AFI right now who have been pushing for me to get in, Pawel, Kenji, Jon, Dave, Kyle and everyone else who put in a good word for me. I'd also like to especially thank Adrianne who never stopped believing in me and always pushed me to do my best and believe in myself.
