The full moon this week was just beautiful and normally I feel very chaotic or whatever but I feel very positive and strong! It's very exciting! I think that having my fingerprints taken made me realize that I really want to be here, I really want to stay! So, I am on a "campaign" chanting 2 hours a day for 30 days, to find people to help me find the best way to stay here legally, and to find representation- a manager or an agent that is excited about me, and has a fire in them! I am determined to draw these people to myself! I also have a very personal dream to meet and work with Clint Eastwood. So, on Tuesday, I head out to meet a friend of a friend in Venice, who is apparently "good people" to know in this town, and I instantly liked her. She is Quebecoise and married to an American and is just a down to earth, funky, fun, beautiful woman! She told me quite quickly that she would help me apply for permanent residency by myself, saving thousands of dollars on a lawyer, and de-mystified the whole process about getting a green card for me, as she had done the same coming from Canada. Then, as we go for a BIKE RIDE! on the beach, and see all kinds of fun characters, I tell her how I need to find Clint Eastwood, that it is my mission, and she says with a laugh that her husband has just finished doing "Changeling" with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shamelessly begged her to find out how I can get my demo to him, I MUST work with this beautiful man!!!!!So, we'll see where that leads, I just love that if you trust, you are EXACTly where you are supposed to be! I audited class yesterday and Cameron Thor said "follow your dream with all of your heart, and the heart of your dream will come true!" I then was telling her about how I really want to draw the right agent, and then she brought up a friend who has a very famous uncle, but her friend is very real, and not using his uncle's name, and has a great agent, so she said she'd ask him for me about his agent...so lots of seeds are being planted, and I'm just so excited and curious to see where they all lead.
I then went up to Malibu to meet my scene partner for class- MAL- I- BU!!! What!? SO fierce! Sometimes when I am driving, with the windows down, and my music on, I think, wasn't it just like 2 months ago that I was terrified of the idea of driving in L.A. Wasn't it just 3 months ago that I didn't even have my license!!!!???? Crazy fun!
I had a great "rehearsal" with my scene partner, who is also an SGI member(!!). The day before, I thought, I would like to find out where the store "James Perse" is because I have a couple of his shirts (very simple and beautiful) that I bought in Montreal that I just love, and it's from Los Angeles. So as my scene partner and I are looking for a restroom, we see the "James Perse" store, and I very happily treated myself with some birthday money to some articles as "Into the Mystic" played on the radio! Needless to say I was having a moment!
And todaaaaaaayyyyyy, we bought a car!!!!!!! We bought it from a lovely man from Philly who lives a 5 minute walk from us!
A Mazda mv- MINI VAN!!!! I know, you are seeing our kids in the back seats right!? Well, my friend Jeanine says to call it the Adri-Dan-(the)-Man-Van, and drive us all to Santa Barbara for wine tastings! Yes please! Also, we can carpool to Buddhist activities and visits. KOSEN RUFU VAN!!!
I am hearing fire engines and police cars close by! I can here a bunch...and... there are the helicopters....
I had my first audition today. It will be a Carter Thor Studio Production of a play called Murder in Green Meadows. And I had so much fun, and discovered more about myself and my power-very exciting stuff! They asked me to stay and read with other actresses and I just had such a great time! It is a 4 person play that will be up for 2 weeks in February. It felt so good to be playing and creating, and doing what I am here to be doing- telling stories, and learning more about myself and humanity through my work!!!
Then Dan and I had a meeting with a friend of Dan's from AFI who has asked me to be the actress in his silent film (called an MOS). Dan is going to work on it, along with our friend Pawel. ACTUALLY Dan and I are going to act in it together!!!! The story is a woman who comes home, and opens the mail and finds a love letter written to her husband, and then finds all of these things around the house that aren't hers, ah-hem, and then at the end she wakes up and looks over to see her husband in bed, realizing it was all a bad dream. So, there will be pictures all through the house of us, which was a bonus in Jon hiring me, and then at the end of the short film, it will be Dan in bed! Awwwwww! We were talking to Jon about Spain where he is from, and I asked him if he liked the film "Vicky, Christina, Barcelona", and he said yes, and he knows the film well, his dad was the Cinematographer!
It's all just so amazing to find out how we are all just so connected to everyone!
